VILLA VIOLA
Sleeps 10+2
Bedrooms 5, Bathrooms 5
Villa, Tresana – Tuscany, Italy
Traditional on the outside, chic and modern on the inside, this lovingly renovated villa is in the heart of Lunigiana, an area that runs from the Apennines to the Mediterranean Sea, where it’s easy to wander into castles and shops or take a day trip to the nearby Medieval towns.
Use the spacious private grounds and garden and five bedrooms as the setting for a quiet family reunion, a yoga retreat, or an intimate destination wedding, or simply as a base to explore the region’s historic sites and world-famous vineyards.
Start the day with a coffee at the seating area on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool, taking in the views and smelling the aromatic plants and lavender in the garden. The patio includes a table and chairs for al fresco dining.
In spite of its rural location, the villa is well-connected, with satellite TV/ SMART TV and Wi-Fi access. Inside, modern and traditional style furnishings mixed with neutral tones have a comfortable, casual appeal.
The rustic chic vibe continues in the dining room and eat-in kitchen, which is fully equipped and opens to the terrace to let the breeze waft in.
Each of Villa Viola’s five bedrooms is air-conditioned. The master suite has a king bed, en-suite bathroom, and access to a large terrace facing the village. Three more bedrooms, three with Queen bed size and one with a French size, each have an en-suite bathroom. Three bedrooms have a small kitchenette, two of them have a double sofa bed for extra guests and a further double sofa bed is in the main living-dining room on the first floor.
Whether you’re on holiday with family, enjoying an escape with friends, or on honeymoon, there’s plenty to do near Villa Viola. Make the 35-minute drive to the town of Pontremoli for a look at the Museum of “Statue Stele”, prehistoric archaeological finds from the area, the 45-minute drive to the “Cinque Terre” (Five Lands), or the 35-minute drive to stroll the picturesque Medieval villages of Lunigiana: Bagnone, Filetto, Filattiera, Fivizzano, and Fosdinovo.
Tennis courts and a golf course are also within easy reach, and as you pass through the countryside, be sure to stop off at local producers and sample the region’s famous wines, olive oils, cheeses and honey.
