ADEN RETREAT
Sleeps 10
Bedrooms 4, Bathrooms 4
Ballinakill Enfield – Ireland
Aden Retreat is home to one of Ireland’s only warm springs, St. Gorman’s Well. The Coach House is a two-hundred-year-old building on the farm with four bedrooms designed to boutique standards with a stylish, rustic interior, super king beds, rain showers, and crisp white linen. It can sleep up to 12 and has a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, cozy sitting room, and living area.
Guests are welcome to chill out in the gardens and ramble around the farm, through the fields and woods. They can play tennis, table tennis, croquet, or other lawn games, and even replenish minds and bodies when classes are available in the yoga studio. On wetter days, the living room has board games, a TV, a huge DVD collection for kids and grown-ups, and lots of books and magazines.
ACCOMMODATION
Available to rent, the Coach House is a lovingly restored stone building with four ensuite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and two cozy sitting rooms. The bedrooms all open onto a sunny courtyard.
The rooms can be made up as singles with additional beds added if needed, so the entire coach house can sleep up to ten comfortably.
The sitting room looks out on the tennis court and has books, games, and a huge, comfy sofa. A separate area upstairs has a cinema projector with lots of DVDs, day beds, and a giant bean bag so parents and kids can hang out within earshot without being on top of each other. It’s perfect for families or groups planning weekends away or catch-ups.
The grounds have a tennis court and 20 acres of fields and woods to ramble in. We’re also 5 minutes from the 130km Royal Canal Greenway linking Dublin and Longford. We are 6 mins from Enfield and have great pubs within a short drive. Trim Castle is less than 20 minutes away.
Self Catering
There is an oven, four-ring hob, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, tea and coffee, plus a toaster, fridge, and plenty of our homemade elderflower cordial.
There is a bottle of this delicious cordial in your room, with still and sparkling spring water direct from our well at the house.
Although it’s self-catering, we make sure the kitchen is stocked with enough supplies to get you going with a hearty breakfast on your first morning, including eggs, bagels, fresh OJ, bagels, bread, cereals, bread, etc.
LOCATION
Guests can make themselves at home and ramble about on the farm, gardens, woodland, and meadow. Aden is home to some amazing, two-hundred-year-old specimen trees including one of the largest sycamores in Ireland and a giant redwood brought from America as a seed by the original owners of the house. We have two friendly dogs, ponies, sheep, and one very naughty donkey who loves to be fed carrots! We have a tennis court, boules, croquet lawn, badminton and plenty of garden games to enjoy.
